I made some healthy substitutions and it turned out yummy for me. Incorporating stiff egg whites into your batter makes the waffles incredibly light instead of heavy and dense.
Seriously, mouth watering thinking about them! Hard to find such a fluffy light recipe using whole wheat flour but this is it!
Threw them out. This is a seriously amazing waffle recipe! In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt until just combined. The finished waffle should be golden brown and crispy.

My family loved them.
So glad you enjoyed them, Terri! It's not unusual for a bit of batter to seep out of the edges of the iron. I didnt have unsalted butter so we only added half of what it called for and they are delicious! You Might Also Like.
